Black Velvet "Blackberry"

Stop! Which is exactly what you do when you see this boy.

Blackberry has all the looks, charm, charisma, and intelligence in one package. You are not going to find a sweeter, friendlier gelding to be your equestrian companion. Blackberry is a barn favorite and a very easy keeper. Horses like him are few and far between, so don’t pass him by.

We are currently doing Training Level dressage with some first level movements and simple lateral work. A willing worker, he is kind and tries new things with an honest attitude. His gaits are comfortable– he feels like you’re sitting on a big couch! You definitely know there is something between your legs, a feeling I personally like. Suitable for any AA looking to finish their own horse with the help of a trainer.

Blackberry is jumping large crossrails and verticals up to 2.5 feet and loves it. He has also been started over smaller xc level fences up to beginner novice height, water, and banks. He enjoys hacking out alone or with others and even enjoys bareback! Steady in the bridle and light in your hands when ridden balanced and correctly. I’m very excited for what the future holds for this guy.

Brittanni Murry

I was born here at Anchor Creek Farms and grew up handling my father and grandfather’s mules and workhorses. These are animals who have jobs and are expected to behave – no nonsense allowed. Dad would give me a few colts to break which started my passion for training, and I’ve taken years of dressage and hunt-seat instruction. Draft-cross sport horses are my special love and I’ve had a lot of success with them but I enjoy the challenge of all breeds. Since I graduated with a BA in Business Management from Millersville University in 2010 I have been training horses full time.
